Scorose: For anon.
"I don’t need you to teach me how to swim," Rose told him scornfully. If it was one thing that Rose had inherited from her mother, it was the semi-annoying tendency to believe she could do anything. Even if she couldn’t.
"If you say so," Scorpius said with amusement. He watched her take off her shirt to reveal her swimming costume and let her dip the edge of her foot into the water first. As expected, she shuddered before dipping another in. "You know, any time today would be great."
She shot him a look that would chill anyone and, to prove her point, she waded in cautiously. When the water was swirling around their ankles, she nodded at him triumphantly, shivering.
"You have to actually get fully in the water to swim," the blonde boy offered. He watched her remain rooted to the spot stubbornly and rolled his eyes. With a cocky grin at her, he took a step back and did a run-up, before landing in the Lake with a big splash.
"Scorpius Malfoy, I’m going to hex you into next year!" Rose shrieked as the cold droplets of water sprinkled her. He only responded by merging to the water’s surface with a loud laugh and more ripples of water thrown her way.
"Lighten up, come further in!" He shouted and she shook her head. A few moments later, he had ducked back underwater and, despite having an inkling feeling of what was going to happen, Rose was caught with surprise when something grabbed her foot, yanking her forward. Her mouth opened into a bloodcurdling scream as she went sprawling forward, the waves of the water pulling her under, and she sputtered.
With the blue ripples swirling around her, Rose opened her eyes indignantly, her arms still waving around in an attempt to move her upwards. Her head tossed as she struggled to manoeuvre her weight when the water crushed around her and her mouth welcomed another rush of salt when Scorpius grabbed her from behind and spun her around. His eyes were lit up with amusement and, just as she opened her mouth again, he leant forward to press his lips against hers. The kiss tasted of salt and seaweed; which was ended quickly as Rose found she could barely breathe for that long and promptly shoved him to drag her back up.
"I… Hate… You…" she panted the moment oxygen hit her lungs again and Scorpius only laughed.
